Election of Board Members

All positions become vacant every year not just the treasurer position.  The current treasurer, after several year’s service, is not standing for reelection.

Overview of Treasurer Board position

The treasurer is a board member who has specific responsibility for the management of the financial affairs of ANZTLA. The key areas for the Treasurer are:

  • Participating in ANZTLA board meetings.

  • Contributing to board e-mail discussions.

  • Reporting financial situation and give financial advice to the board on a regular basis.

  • Facilitating changes to authorised signatories on bank accounts as required.

  • Maintaining membership details on the ANZTLA website.

  • Updating membership renewals.

  • Communicating with subscription agencies, clients and suppliers as required.

  • Preparing and despatching membership correspondence.

  • Recording and then facilitating payment of all supplier invoices

  • Banking any cash or cheque payments.

  • Recording all payments received on MYOB.

  • Reconciling payments and receipts on MYOB against bank statements.

  • Maintaining the currency of records in MYOB.

  • Paying invoices and receiving funds related to the Janet Little Scholarship Scheme (JLSS)

  • Facilitating the appointment of an auditor.

  • Preparing documentation for the auditor.

  • Providing an annual financial report.

  • Presenting the annual report and auditor’s report to the ANZTLA AGM

  • Keeping backups of all electronic files.
